On this brief walking tour along the Battlefield grounds, participants will learn how the frontier settlement of Frenchtown was established, how the settlement and its residents were impacted by the War of 1812, and how the land became industrialized after the war ended. Rangers will then explain how the River Raisin National Battlefield Park came into existence and review the plans we have for expanding the site and offering a world-class, hands-on, living history experience. Please wear comfortable shoes, bring a water bottle, and be prepared for the weather.
